Catholic Action celebrate fan art (both brilliant and terrible) in their ‘Rita Ora’ video

The Scots commissioned a tonne of drawings on Gumtree and Craigslist.

Fan art is a lovely, varied thing. Sometimes it captures the visage of an artist quite perfectly, rendering their exact likeness in delicate brushstrokes. Sometimes, things take an abstract turn, reimagining conventional facial structures in revolutionary new ways. And sometimes, to be blunt, it can be terrible.

It’s a tradition Catholic Action embrace in their ‘Rita Ora’ video. They commissioned a load of Rita Ora drawings through websites like Gumtree and Craigslist, and then, as director Ciaran Lyons puts it “good or bad, we’d just include all the drawings in the video.”

A particular highlight - a depiction of Rita Ora rocking out behind the drums - appears at the 1.17 mark.
