Chad VanGaalen shares new track ‘Mind Hijacker’s Curse’

Here’s a bit of “light information” for you: Chad VanGaalen’s shared another track from his upcoming new record (that’s quite important information though, isn’t it?)

Yep, after revealing a trippy video for ‘Pine and Clover’ and the track ‘Old Heads’, Chad is back with another cut from his upcoming album ‘Light Information’ (it’s due on 8th September via Sub Pop). ‘Mind Hijacker’s Curse’ is a bit of a wobbly yet vibrant slice of alt-pop with vintage synths and a few strident riffs. Perhaps unsurprisingly, it’s also got quite a trippy, body-hopping concept behind it too.

Chad himself says of the song: “Mind Hijacker’s Curse is the outcome and side effect of vacationing inside of another organism’s consciousness. Once we can do this, I see the potential to forget your physical self and just live inside of some other beings mind. Hook me up to the fungal web that allows entire forests to communicate. I imagine the dolphin package would be very popular…”

In October, Chad will be bringing ‘Light Information’ to the UK for a couple of dates, playing at London’s Oslo and the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds. Tickets are on sale now.
