Chance The Rapper is working on his first ‘proper’ album

In an interview with BBC 1Xtra, Chance revealed that he’s moving away from mixtapes for the first time.

After blowing the world away with his early mixtapes, Chance The Rapper has revealed that he’s working on his first debut album proper.

In an interview with BBC 1Xtra, Chance revealed his intentions to DJ Semtex. “I’ll probably put out an album, that’s what I’ve been thinking about, just between us,” he stated. “I don’t know exactly the format every time when I’m making something but a lot of times I have an idea, and I think what I’m working on right now is an album. My mixtapes have been confused for albums for a long time so it has to be something different,” he admitted.

Watch the interview back below - his album remarks come at around the 26-minute mark.

As part of the very same appearance, Chance covered Drake in the Live Lounge, and extended a prayer to Kanye West following his hospitalisation. Chance’s remaining European tour dates have been cancelled due to “personal reasons.”
