Chance The Rapper releases new song ‘Lady Friend’

Rapper releases another new cut with his band The Social Experiment

Chance The Rapper has released yet more new, unallocated material in the form of ‘Lady Friend’.

The new track, another to be unveiled with his backing band The Social Experiment, was announced via the rapper’s Twitter as a Valentine’s Day present.

‘Lady Friend’ is one of many tracks uploaded to Chance The Rapper’s Soundcloud page since the release of his 2013 mixtape ‘Acid Rap’, which all may be set to appear on his next LP, ‘Surf’, a collaboration with rapper Donnie Trumpet, as well as The Social Experiment. These include ‘No Better Blues’ and ‘Wonderful Everyday’, his cover of the Arthur theme tune which he started performing live at festivals last summer.

‘Lady Friend’ features vocals from Kiara Lanier and Kehlani, and was produced by Nate Fox, who has worked with Chance previously, having featured on ‘Acid Rap’ cut ‘Pusha Man’. The track continues the more mellow, piano-based direction Chance The Rapper appears to be heading in with regards to his post-‘Acid Rap’ material.

No release date or tracklisting has been revealed for ‘Surf’ yet, but it’s clear Chance and his band have no shortage of new material to pick and choose from.
