Clairo releases charity single ‘For Now

All proceeds from the track will be donated to causes chosen by Clairo.

Clairo has released a special one-off single, ‘For Now’, in an effort to raise money for causes close to her heart. The song was released on her Bandcamp page on 1st April, with Clairo noting that all proceeds stemming from the track would be donated to two charities: For the Gworls, a Black, trans-led collective that curates parties in order to raise funds for Black transgender people in need of help with rent or medical payments, and Everytown for Gun Safety, a non-profit organisation that advocates for gun control. The native of Carlisle, Massachusetts began posting her music online over a decade ago, when she was just 13-years-old. Since then, her debut album ‘Immunity’ in 2019 and follow-up ‘Sling’ in 2021 have established her as one of the stand-out names in current pop music. Clairo has a history of using her platform to make political statements, having been one of the artists to sign a full-page advertisement in the New York TImes in 2022 condemning the US Supreme Court’s planned decision to overturn the abortion rights established in Roe v. Wade. She later wore a t-shirt at Glastonbury 2022 with the slogan ‘Bans Off Our Bodies’. Check out ‘For Now’ below. For Now by clairo
