LCD Soundsystem and Guns N’ Roses are set to play Coachella 2016
The New York Times reports that both are confirmed for the U.S. mega-fest.
After playing Santa and releasing their first song in five years on Christmas Day, LCD Soundsystem are reportedly set to play nest year’s Coachella festival.
The New York Times is reporting that the N.Y. dance-punk group are confirmed to play the festival, which takes place over the two consecutive weekend of April 15-17 and 22-24. It follows numerous rumours earlier this year that pointed to an LCD Soundsystem reunion, which were fervently denied by DFA Records head honcho Kris Petersen.
In addition, Guns N’ Roses are apparently confirmed to play the festival in an at-least-slightly-resembling original line-up for the first time since 1993 - as well as that, they’re set to headline a number of U.S. stadium shows, reports Billboard. Keep your eyes peeled for more on that one - Rolling Stone state that the band’s iconic frontman Axl Rose is set to appear on Jimmy Kimmel to give official word on those rumours next week.
Coachella’s initial line-up will be officially announced at the start of January 2016 - catch up with DIY’s quick run-through of why ‘Christmas Will Break Your Heart’ is just the start of LCD Soundsystem’s return here. You can also stream said Christmas miracle right here.
