Courtney Barnett returns with brand new track ‘Stay In Your Lane’
It marks her first new music since the release of her 2023 instrumental album ‘End of the Day’.

Two years on from her last release, GRAMMY-winning Aussie songwriter Courtney Barnett has returned with a brand new single - a hook-laden, immediate earworm entitled ‘Stay In Your Lane’.
It acts as a follow up to 2023’s ‘End Of The Day’ - a surprise instrumental album released to accompany the film Anonymous Club - and is the first instalment of what press materials have teasingly termed “her next musical chapter”.
Recorded in Los Angeles, the new track was recorded with producer extraordinaire John Congleton behind the mixing desk (St Vincent, Big Thief, Shame), and will get its television debut when Courtney performs it on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show next Wednesday (22nd October).
What’s more, ‘Stay In Your Lane’ has also arrived accompanied by a visceral, Alex Ross Perry-directed video that sees Courtney make like Van Gogh and, er, part ways with her ear. Check it out for yourself below.
