Outside of new music plans, Danny Brown has confirmed that he’s writing a children’s book.

With no outside plans to release the novel, he says he’s putting something together for his daughter, inspired by the work of Dr. Seuss.

Speaking to Triple J in Australia, Brown says the book is “about self-esteem in black girls.” Elaborating, he says: “You know how black women do so much - process their hair, change their eye colour -it’s really about a little girl who does all these things to herself and changes herself and she realises she’s just better off the way she is.”

He further citied The Grinch and One Fish, Two Fish as specific Dr. Seuss inspirations.

When pushed for an update on new material, he told the station that he’s been working with the same producers as for 2013’s ‘Old’ - Paul White and SKYWLKR. He’s also done sessions with The Alchemist.
