Danny Brown signs to Warp, shares ‘When It Rain’

Paranoid, shuffling new track is the first preview of a new album.

Danny Brown has shared ‘When It Rain’, a deranged first take from his upcoming new album.

He’s signed a deal with Warp Records (Aphex Twin, Battles) for the follow-up to 2013’s ‘Old’, and this new cut arrives after his appearance on The Avalanches’ ‘Frankie Sinatra’.

‘When It Rain’ starts in restrained form, but it eventually evolves into a dark, twisted, 100mph ride, Brown rapping “you ain’t heard it like this before / they don’t do it like this no more.”

It’s a pent up, paranoid glimpse of the future from the Detroit rapper - stream below.
