Dave Grohl “cried like a fucking baby” while watching Florence + The Machine’s Glastonbury set
Florence Welch took Foo Fighters’ headline slot after Grohl broke his leg.
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has revealed that he watched Florence + The Machine’s Glastonbury 2015 headline set, and he “cried like a fucking baby.”
Florence Welch and co. took the Foos’ Glasto slot after Grohl broke his leg on stage in Sweden, forcing the band to postpone and cancel European shows.
Speaking to Q Magazine, Grohl revealed that he’d always hoped Florence would take the Foos’ spot at Worthy Farm. “When we cancelled and they were searching for a replacement I prayed they’d just move them to the top of the bill because they fucking deserve to be there,” he said. “I was so excited when they announced they would, I emailed Florence to congratulate her.”
“The day after the gig, someone sent me a link to the performance and I cried like a fucking baby. It melted my fucking heart. I am forever indebted to them. It meant so much, you have no idea.”
