Desaparecidos sign to Epitaph Records, new album due this year
The five-piece haven’t released an album since their debut, which landed all the way back in 2001.
Conor Oberst has always been a productive artist and right now, he’s working to prove that tenfold. Fresh from releasing his latest solo record, ‘Upside Down Mountain’, last year, he’s now confirmed that his gritty punk rock side project Desaparecidos have signed to Epitaph Records. There’s also promise of a new album from the five-piece, which, after a thirteen year gap since their debut, feels like a long time coming.
“We are honored to officially be on @epitaphrecords. So many great things to come in 2015,” the band announced on their Facebook page yesterday (Tuesday 28th January), hinting at the follow-up to ‘Read Music/ Speak Spanish’.
The news of their forthcoming full-length - which will follow on from their ‘MariKKKopa’ and ‘Anonymous’ EPs which were released in 2012 and 2013 respectively - emerged at the same time as the band confirmed a handful of live appearances. Having already scheduled themselves to support Brand New on a few of their upcoming dates, the band have now extended their upcoming schedule.
