DIY Presents Tour 2014: Shy Nature relive whiskey and wrestling on the DIY tour with Flyte

Shy Nature arrived at the DIY all-dayer fresh from a run of six free shows across the country with Flyte. This year’s DIY Presents Tour 2014 pack formed a bond while out on the road, thanks to the trusty method of a few whiskey drinks.

“We had some time [to hang out], the main one was after Nottingham,” remembers drummer Matthew Paisley. We bonded that night over some whiskey. The two Will’s wrestled, Will [Taylor] from Flyte and Will [Blackaby] from Shy Nature.”

“I’ve actually got quite a good picture of mid-wrestling, where they’re squaring off,” laughs Gary Saloman. “I think someone executed a stunner, and it was pretty much game over after that.”

Picking their favourite show from the DIY tour, Blackaby cites a gig at Leeds’ Nation of Shopkeepers. “It was the best because it was just rammed full of people who seemed to be able to have a good time,” he says. “The feedback was really good, so it was nice.”
