DIY Weekly, 23rd September 2013 - Out Now Feat. Yuck, Touché Amoré, More

Chvrches and Joanna Gruesome also feature in DIY’s new smartphone and tablet edition.

Despite line-up changes and creepy paranormal activity, Yuck are still keeping it suitably gross.

Ahead of the release of their second album ‘Glow & Behold’, the band now led by Max Bloom appear as coverstars on DIY Weekly, our smartphone and tablet edition.

Also in the latest issue, Touché Amoré stand out as a group ready to change the face of hardcore with their new album ‘Is Survived By’. Pushing the boundaries of heavy music, there’s a reason they stand out as a group putting themselves on the line.

Chvrches also had to fight tooth and nail to make a debut as flooring as ‘The Bones Of What You Believe’. Shunning hype and delivering songs to match 2012 single of the year ‘The Mother We Share’ was no easy feat, but they’ve achieved just that.

Also enjoying their breakthrough moment is Joanna Gruesome, a band adopting a DIY-or-die strategy that’s paying off. Cardiff’s noisiest are interviewed, and we take a closer look at a do-it-yourself scene that’s in the form of its life.

Beyond these features, the new Weekly contains verdicts on the latest Chvrches, Dent May and Kings of Leon LPs, word from Charli XCX on her first UK tour (alongside Paramore no less) and an exclusive Neu mix from Moshi Moshi singings Totem.

All that and a great deal more in the latest DIY Weekly. It’s out now, available on iTunes Newsstand

Downloadable on iPhone and iPad, single issues are priced at £1.49 - or you can take up one of several subscription offers. Weeklies over a month old are available for 69p each.
