DIY Weekly, 30th September 2013 - Out Now Feat. Haim, Kids In Glass Houses, More
It’s Haim to download the latest DIY Weekly - out now on smartphone and tablet!

The latest DIY Weekly technically, when you think about it, gets a ringing endorsement from the Prime Minister. David Cameron’s a Haim fan now. Whether that’s a good thing is up for debate in the Commons.
What’s certain is that the brilliant LA trio are on the cover of Weekly. ‘Baby Haim’ aka Alana goes into serious detail when asked about Percy Pigs, while also discussing parents, previous incarnations of Haim that used to resemble Westlife, and the magic of sister Este’s bass face.
Also inside the new smartphone and tablet edition is Kids And Glass Houses. They fought out against being pegged an ‘alternative pop’ group by writing a concept album about the end of the world. They discuss finding inner ‘Peace’ while also being their own worst enemies.
There’s also the arrival of PINS, a Manchester band sporting a DIY-or-die attitude that’s served them well, from releasing other bands’ cassettes to bringing out their own debut, ‘Girls Like Us’.
All this, plus word from hip-hop’s biggest super group Deltron 3030 on their first album in 13 years and the story of Fenech-Soler and how they found support through tough times, eventually landing with their new second album.
Albums from The Field and coverstars Haim get the DIY verdict, and in Neu, new arena-ready band Shy Nature provide an exclusive mix and Bondax give advice on how to stop listening to ‘dirty dubstep’.
All that and a great deal more in the latest DIY Weekly. It’s out now, available on iTunes Newsstand
Downloadable on iPhone and iPad, single issues are priced at £1.49 - or you can take up one of several subscription offers. Weeklies over a month old are available for 69p each.

HAIM: Calling It Quits
Now over a decade into their career, HAIM have long since hit their stride — and, having already spent years navigating the industry’s infamous fickleness, on fourth record ‘I quit’ they literally “don’t give a fuck”. With a period of break-ups, overthinking, and crippling self-doubt now behind them, the LA sisters are letting their hair down, ready to abandon fear and embrace a summer of vulnerability, freedom, and fun.
