Drake breaks Spotify streaming record
‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ hits 23.6m in four days
Drake’s latest release ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ has set a new streaming record on Spotify, since its surprise release last Thursday. Yesterday, Spotify confirmed that the new mixtape has set the record for most album streams in its debut week.
‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ hit 23.6 million streams in the first four days of its release, with 6.8 million streams coming from Saturday alone, another record. It breaks the previous record of 15.8 million, which was set by the man himself with his last studio album ‘Nothing Was The Same’ in 2013.
The surprise release has surpassed 500,000 sales in the first week, and debuted in the UK Official Charts on Sunday at #3.
