Easy Kill soar with ’Not Even Lovers’ track

A signature sound marks this lot out as something special indeed - they’re today’s Neu Pick.

Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from Easy Kill.Steadfast and nourishing, Easy Kill’s take on euphoria is as essential as it is moving. On ‘Not Even Lovers’, they take that outlook and shoot straight for the clouds.Paired up with the previously released ‘Samson’ (which we featured in a recent Neu Bulletin) and their promising early demos (which found their way into a less recent Neu Bulletin), it’s a regal illustration of why Easy Kill are set to align themselves with some of the most timeless acts of modern years. Where ‘Samson’ pitched them alongside the likes of Future Islands with its motorik pace, ‘Not Even Lovers’ soars like the best of The Maccabees, a wistful, embracing vocal painting watercolours atop the band’s delicate canvas. Free from hype or fad, with a signature all of their own, Easy Kill are a proposition unlike many others.‘Not Even Lovers’ is taken from their upcoming EP ‘Sermons’, which is set for release on the 26th February. To celebrate, they’ll play a couple of shows (dates below) in Manchester and London around its release - the London date is free, but to guarantee entry you’re gonna wanna pre-order a copy of the EP. Until then, lose yourself in the first play of ‘Not Even Lovers’, premiering below.FEBRUARY26 Manchester, The Deaf Institute (tickets)MARCH11 London, The Old Blue Last
