Academia comes first
Ed Simons will no longer play live with The Chemical Brothers
One half of the duo will still partake in DJ sets due to his pursuit of academic work.
Ed Simons - one half of The Chemical Brothers - has announced that he’ll no longer perform live with the band.
Simons explained his decision by stating “academic work I’m continuing with is too meaningful for me to break from right now” in an interview with Bugged Out Weekender ahead of next January’s event.
“We’re still very much together and making this record together and DJing together,” he clarified, when asked if The Chemical Brothers would continue as a band.
“I have committed to academic pursuits over the last few years so I won’t be able to be part of the live show. It’s been a really difficult decision but it doesn’t work for me to be away from home for the periods of time touring requires. Tom is continuing with the live show, he wants to take this music to the people.”
The Bugged Out Weekender takes place 16th January 2015.
