Egyptian Blue share details of their debut album, ‘A Living Commodity’
The announcement also comes accompanied by a new single, ‘Skin’.
Brighton-based outfit Egyptian Blue have today (17th July) announced the release of their upcoming debut album, due on 27th October via Felix White’s YALA! Records. Entitled ‘A Living Commodity’, the album is the band’s first full-length and a project which has been highly anticipated since their breakout in 2019.
They’ve also shared another teaser of the record in the form of the single ‘Skin’: a track of two halves that initially drives forward before unfurling in all directions, giving room for textured guitars and increasingly frenetic percussion to fully breathe. Of the track, the band say: “It’s a simple song and kind of structurally unorthodox. I see wide open spaces snapping into a tight and clean portrait, and back and forth between them. It toys with the idea of being ok, then not ok, and pining to wear another’s skin in the climate of discontent in yourself and your situations”.
‘Skin’ completes a trilogy of returning singles, alongside recent tracks ‘Geisha’ and ‘Matador’. Today’s news is just the first instalment of plans for 2023, too, as an autumn headline tour - including a date at London’s 100 Club - beckons.
The tracklist for ‘A Living Commodity’ is:
1. Matador
2. Nylon Wire
3. Belgrade Shade
4. Skin
5. In My Condition
6. A Living Commodity
7. Apparent Cause
8. Suit Of Lights
9. To Be Felt
10. Contain It
11. Geisha
