Emily Eavis says Prince isn’t involved in this year’s Glastonbury
Eavis posted on Twitter that the circulating rumours are “completely untrue”.
Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis took to Twitter over the weekend to dispel rumours of Prince possibly performing at this year’s festival.
The weekend’s Sunday (19th April) tabloids had reported that Prince was set to play and pulled out as the final headliner for the event on Worthy Farm this June. Eavis simply stated that, “Tabloid reports today about Prince playing or pulling out are unfounded and completely untrue. We’ll unveil all the stages soon!”
Eavis also confirmed that resale tickets sold out in a record time of 11 minutes. Last week, over 70 acts were confirmed to play the event, following the recent announcement that Foo Fighters and Kanye West are two of the three headliners. Acts such as Pharrell Williams, Florence and the Machine, Patti Smith, FKA Twigs, Jamie xx, Alt-J, Caribou, and many more. The confirmed acts in alphabetical order as as follows:
