GRAMMYs Hall of Fame to induct songs by Prince, Nirvana and David Bowie
Tracks by REM and The Beach Boys are also being inducted.
The Recording Academy have announced a list of 25 musical works that will be inducted into their 2017 GRAMMY Hall of Fame.
Among the 25 tracks and albums listed are David Bowie’s ‘Changes’, Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ and Prince’s ‘Sign O’ The Times’. REM’s ‘Losing My Religion’ and The Beach Boys’ ‘I Get Around’ are also being inducted. The whole of N.W.A’s 1988 album ‘Straight Outta Compton’ is also set to be immortalised.
Neil Portnow, the CEO of the Recording Academy, said: “The GRAMMY Hall Of Fame represents all genres of music, acknowledging the diversity of musical expression for which The Academy has become renowned.” He continued: “Memorable and inspiring, these recordings are proudly added to our growing catalog and are an integral part of our musical, social and cultural history.”
