FKA twigs drops first preview of forthcoming new album 'Eusexua'

FKA twigs has unveiled the first taste of what to expect from her forthcoming third studio album, ‘EUSEXUA’ (due out on 24th January 2025 via Young Recordings).

The LP’s just-released title track comes after a week of Twigs teasing its arrival on social media, writing on Instagram: “do you feel alone? you’re not alone. EUSEXUA is coming.”

Inspired by her time living in Prague, the new cut is a minimalist techno offering that is (presumably) intended to capture the feeling of ‘eusexua’ - a word she’s coined to describe a sort of euphoric transcendence. “It’s like when you’ve been kissing a lover for hours and turn into an amoeba with that person. You’re not human anymore, you’re just a feeling,” she has commented, speaking to Vogue earlier this year

Explaining more about the album on Instagram, Twigs has said: “EUSEXUA has been my practice for the years that it has been in creation. it is my opus and truly feels like a pin at the centre of the core of my artist.

“EUSEXUA was birthed in chicken scratch, written on the back of my hand in a toilet at a rave in Prague, ‘this room of fools WE MAKE SOMETHING TOGETHER’ and we do. we rave, we sweat, we kiss, we make love to the booming thud of culture. EUSEXUA is a practice. EUSEXUA is a state of being. EUSEXUA is the pinnacle of human experience.”

It’s the first solo music from the singular artist since 2022 (she also dropped a collab with electronic duo Two Shell earlier this year), and is the inaugural offering from her first studio album in five years (following 2019’s ‘MAGDALENE’).
