Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold gave away his lovely woollen jumper to a devoted fan

He gifted the knitwear to the founder of the ‘Fuck Yeah Robin Pecknold’s Sweater’ Tumblr page. Awh.

All too often, noble heroes of the world remain unsung. The founders of Tumblr’s many ‘Fuck Yeah…’ blogs remain firmly in that category a lot of the time; meticulously editing websites on topics ranging from Tegan from Tegan and Sara’s cut-off shirt collection, to indie rockers with beards. For many years, the editor-in-chief of Fuck Yeah, Robin Pecknold’s Sweater was one such silent warrior.

The Fleet Foxes frontman has been searching for the website’s creator since May this year, telling fans in a Reddit AMA: “I haven’t worn it in five years but I have brought it with me dutifully everywhere I’ve moved, someone made a tumblr about that sweater and I wrote to them trying to mail it to them as a gift but they never responded”

Now, though, justice has been served. Robin Pecknold’s lovely geometric sweater, its beige wool embellished with burgundy flashes, has found its way to the devoted jumper-enthusiast.

“Excited to see the sweater in new #situations expanding its #horizons beyond being #cozy on [his] #folkback.” Robin Pecknold posted, before taking one last photo with the jumper for old times sake.

It’s a truly happy ending for a story with a narrative arc to rival that of Shakespeare’s best work. Here’s the founder of Fuck Yeah, Robin Pecknold’s Sweater, in the very jumper she set up a website about.
