Florence + The Machine, Wolf Alice and Mark Ronson to play day one of Glastonbury 2015
DIY is at Worthy Farm, bringing you all the action from the opening day.
The first full day of music takes place today at Glastonbury 2015, and it’s led by Florence + The Machine’s first ever headline slot at the festival.
Florence Welch has been given a leap of faith by Glasto organisers, after Foo Fighters had to cancel due to Dave Grohl’s broken leg. It’s the biggest moment of her career so far, and she has everything in her locker to deliver the fest’s standout moment.
She has tough competition, mind you. On the week of their album release and the night after a secret set on William’s Green, Wolf Alice are playing an evening slot on The Park Stage. On the same stage, highlights come from Glass Animals, Sharon Van Etten and our June cover star Jamie xx.
There’s so bloody much happening elsewhere. The harshest clash of the fest sees Peace playing at the same time as Wolf Alice, over on the John Peel Stage. Hinds play a Midday set in the same tent, and if you’re an early riser, check out opening act Weaves from1 1am.
Mark Ronson will be taking Glasto uptown on the Other Stage, with Jungle’s funk paving the way earlier in the day. Elsewhere, expect highlights from Alabama Shakes, The Cribs, Everything Everything, Super Furry Animals and Hot Chip. Keep an eye on that special guests slot on the Other Stage, too.
Below, check out a rundown of who to see on day one.
