Florence Welch Wants Tom Waits To Cover Her Songs

You know those obscenely fantastical thoughts you sometimes get, like ‘I wonder if in an alternate universe Ryan Gosling wishes he looked like me, instead of it forever being the other way round’? Well, it appears that Florence Welch has been having these sort of bewildering ideas.

The singer recently revealed how she would love for avant-garde legend Tom Waits to cover one of her songs.

Yesterday, Florence and the Machine played a special session at the Harrods sale and when asked afterwards which artist she would most like to hear cover one of her band’s songs and what song she would like it to be, Welch responded by saying: ‘I would love Tom Waits to cover ‘Shake It Out’.

We wouldn’t hold our breath. But you know, Scarlett Johansson did release a whole album full of Waits covers a few years back- so stranger things have happened.
