Footage of Prince’s ‘Rally 4 Peace’ Baltimore concert emerges online
Last weekend’s benefit was streamed via Tidal with proceeds aiding city youth charities.
Footage has emerged of Prince and 3RDEYEGIRL’s benefit concert in Baltimore last night (Sunday 10th May), to honour the death of Freddie Gray - a 25-year old African-American man who died from spinal cord injuries following unnecessary force under police custody.
A portion of proceeds from the ticket sales were donated to the city’s local youth charities, while Jay Z also matched the funds donated through Tidal’s website, which live-streamed the concert. In addition, Tidal announced their support for the Baltimore Justice Fund which aims to end racial discrimination, create schools, reduce drug addiction and eliminate police brutality.
Fan footage of the event shows guest appearances from Miguel, Estelle, and Doug. E Fresh; watch below.
