Four Tet unveils unreleased remix of Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’

Track was premiered on Jon Hopkins’ latest Radio 1 residency.

For his latest Radio 1 residency, producer Jon Hopkins invited special guest Four Tet onto the station to premiere a previously unheard track.

Kieran Hebden checked in midway through the hour-long residency to showcase a remix of Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’, which dates back to their ‘X&Y’ album.

As well as playing his Emanative collaboration of ‘Makondi’ and Anthony Naples’ ‘Refugio’ (signed to Hebden’s TEXT label) he also gave airtime to a remix of Hopkins’ own ‘Angel Echoes’ track.

Jon Hopkins closed the show with his ‘Nightfall / Love Theme’ track - he also played music from Beck, Nathan Fake and Boards of Canada.

To hear the ‘Fix You’ remix, listen from the 25.50 mark on BBC iPlayer.

This weekend, Four Tet plays Tyneside’s BBC 6 Music Festival. He’s also confirmed for Bristol’s Love Saves The Day (23rd-25th May) and Bestival 2015 (10th-13th September). Jon Hopkins meanwhile is looking ahead to his biggest ever headline show at Brixton Academy, London, on 24th April.
