Frank Iero announces new album as frnkiero and the cellabration

The former My Chemical Romance guitarist has announced his return to music.

Frank Iero, the former guitarist of My Chemical Romance, has seemingly decided to follow in the footsteps of his previous frontman Gerard Way - who last week unveiled the first few details of his solo record - by announcing the initial information surrounding his own solo record.

Having unveiled a handful of sporadic tracks since the band’s split last year, including his limited edition 2013 EP ‘for jamia…’, the guitarist has now confirmed plans to release a full album later this summer. Taking on the guise of frnkiero and the cellabration, he’ll release ‘stomachaches’ on 26th August (a UK date is yet to be confirmed) through his own imprint on Staple Records.

Announcing the news on his website, Iero also revealed that the album was recorded in both his own B.Calm home studio and New Jersey’s North End Recording, before additional vocals were completed at Backstage Studios. His statement reads as follows.

“i am proud to say i have officially signed to Staple Records. and on August 26th 2014 along with my own imprint, B.CALM press, we will be releasing “Stomachaches.” by frnkiero and the cellabration.

the new record will include 12 songs and clocks in around 40 or so minutes. all songs were written and performed by myself except for the drums on 9 of the songs, which were performed amazingly by my friend Jarrod Alexander.

i’m really looking forward to sharing this record with all of you. these songs came from deep inside me and became my salvation at a certain point. and up until this august i will have kept the majority of them a secret from everyone. they were just mine, and now i am ready to give them up to all of you. i hope that you may enjoy them.”

The tracklisting of ‘stomachaches’ is as follows.

1. all i want is nothing
2. weighted
3. blood infections
4. she’s the prettiest girl at the party and she can prove it with a solid right hook
5. stitches
6. joyriding
7. stage 4 fear of trying
8. tragician
9. neverenders
10. smoke rings
11. guilttripping
12. where do we belong? anywhere but here

In the meantime, catch up with Iero’s track ‘B.F.F.’ - as featuring his two daughters Cherry and Lily - below.
