Frank Ocean’s ‘Blonde’ and ‘Endless’ aren’t eligible for this year’s Grammys
Frank and team missed the cut-off point to submit the record for consideration.
He’s been a busy been this year, Frank Ocean, but it seems his hectic schedule might have got the better of him - neither ‘Blonde’ nor ‘Endless’ were submitted for Grammys consideration.
The mega US award show is set to take place on February 12th 2017, with the deadline for submissions taking place on September 30th. Both of Frank’s albums from this year, ‘Blonde’ and ‘Endless’, were released way before then (August 20th and 12th respectively), so it’s unclear whether this was a deliberate decision by Frank and pals, or just a great big cock up. His debut album ‘channel ORANGE’ won the Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album.
Last year, Drake forgot to submit ‘Hotline Bling’ for Grammy consideration. Absolute shocker there, mate.
