Franz Ferdinand And Sparks Are Recording An Album Together
Sparks keyboardist Ron Mael confirmed that they’ve been working together since April 2013.

Since April 2013, the stuff of folklore’s come true as Franz Ferdinand and Sparks have teamed up to work on a collaborative release.
NME revealed the news, with Sparks keyboardist Ron Mael confirming the plans in a recent interview. He claims they first hooked up in April of last year, ‘mashing together’ the staple sounds of both bands.
‘Alex and Russell’s voices are very distinctive, so you notice the trade-off between them straight away. Both bands’ styles are coming together pretty seamlessly,’ he stated. They’ve been acquaintances since 2002, according to Mael, but it’s only recently that they’ve decided to enter the studio tonight.
Franz Ferdinand’s latest album ‘Right Thoughts, Right Action, Right Words’ is out now.
