Franz Ferdinand get remixed by The Horrors’ Tom Furse
The track appears on new single, ‘Stand on the Horizon’.
Franz Ferdinand are set to release another song from fourth album, ‘Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action’ next month, and they’ve roped in some friends to help.
Single ‘Stand on the Horizon’ is out on 28th July, and will feature remixes from producer Todd Terje and The Horrors’ Tom Furse - plus a cover of the track from Sunderland indie kids Frankie & The Heartstrings.
As frontman Alex Kapranos explains, they’re a fitting choice to perform the song, as the song references places from his youth in the North East, including South Shields Metro station and Marsden Rock.
“Ach, it’s one of those optimistic pessimist’s songs - as the North Sea sings “Come to me! Throw yourself to me!” all you can imagine is stepping across the horizon into a golden future while Marsden Rock collapses under the waves.”
Listen to the Tom Furse Extrapolation remix below.
Franz Ferdinand appear at this year’s T in the Park festival, and will headline Somerset House on 16th July as part of the Summer Series.
