Frnkiero and the Cellabration unveil ‘Weighted’ video

Frank Iero is due to release his solo album later this month, and now, he’s revealed his first video.

Later this month, Frank Iero will be donning a new guise and releasing his debut solo album under the title of frnkiero and the cellabration. Having already confirmed that his full-length ‘stomachaches’ will be landing on 25th August through Hassle Records, the former My Chemical Romance guitarist has now gone one step further, and offered up new track ‘weighted’ along with an accompanying video clip.

Opening up the first scene with a group of young fans, whose hero - Iero himself - has sadly died, they hatch a plan to bring the frontman back to life.

Planning to kidnap the body of the deceased before burying him in their local pet cemetery in a bid to wake the dead, this group of kids get a little more than they planned for when Frank reawakens…

Directed by NY-based duo Ghost + Cow (also known as Brandon LaGanke and John Carlucci), this clip’s not for the faint-hearted; think more Hammer Horror than ‘Helena’.

Speaking of the video itself, Iero has said: “I’m so excited for people to see this video we made. When I first wrote out the treatment and concept, I knew it had to be John Carlucci and Brandon LaGanke in the director’s chair and my friend Tate Steinsiek on special effects. No one else could have made my dreams a reality like they did. I needed incredibly talented, sick-in-the-head individuals who didn’t mind working 32 hours a day to make this all happen. And I must say I am forever indebted to their beautifully deranged spirits.”

Watch the clip below.

Iero’s debut album as frnkiero and the cellabration, ‘stomachaches’, gets released on 25th August.
