Listen to Guest Singer’s introspective new cut ‘I Could Never Live Like You Do’

Debut EP ‘I’m Irrelevant Now’ is out later this month.

Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from Guest Singer.

Having previously debuted their dark party songs via first singles ‘New Experience’ and ‘My Parallel’, Guest Singer has shared another preview of their upcoming EP with new song ‘I Could Never Live Like You Do’, a track full of 80s-tinged synths and mellow vocals.

Featuring Doncaster’s Jake Cope and comprising Paul Burdett and France Lahmar, the trio are signed to Manchester-based label Heist or Hit, which is already home to Her’s and Pizzagirl, and are set to release their debut EP ‘I’m Irrelevant Now’ later this month.

“Heroes are nothing but unreliable narrators created in our own minds. What we idolise in other people is often what we think is missing within ourselves,” Jake explains about the track. “When you discover these protagonists of perfection are flawed, cruel, or just boring, the let-down of realisation can empty you out. This song is recognition of that.”
