H U S H ! bring the sleepy bliss with ‘Teenage Weekends’
We’ve got the first spin on the Dorset band’s nod to 80s teen flicks.

Eyes firmly trained on feet, H U S H ! channel a shoegaze strain of sorts. Except in their case, the shoes in question are glammy silver platforms, bedazzled with power-pop diamanté gems, and sleepy guitar laces that barely keep the whole thing firmly on hoof.
An lethargic, hazy undercurrent is a fitting backdrop for ‘Teenage Weekends’ - a thumping, surging ode to adolescent routine and “wasted youth” that’s just begun. Downbeat though it may be, it’s all tongue in cheek, too; like Mean Girls’ melodramatic burn book, or the super-intense rivalry of Murphy’s Romance. And, according to the band’s frontman, Arran Taylor, that’s the vibe at hand.
“‘Teenage Weekends’ is my love letter to the film scores of 1980s coming of age movies,” he explains. “I always thought it would score well to the end of a Corey Haim film.”
We’ve got the first spin of ‘Teenage Weekends’ below - pre-order it here. H U S H ! play London’s The Victoria on 12th of July.
