Haim Discuss New Material: ‘We Like It To Sound A Little Weird’
The band’s debut album is currently planned for spring 2013.

Haim are currently hard at work on their debut album, splitting recording between LA and London with producers Ariel Rechtshaid and James Ford, and they’ve told us a little about their new material.
Speaking to DIY as part of our Class Of 2013 series, Danielle Haim explains: ‘When we started the band the whole thing was to mix organic sounds with non-organic sounds, and finally I think we’ve struck a good balance. We’re just exploring that a little more, sonically and production wise.
‘We like home studios, kind of closet spaces – that’s something we’ve realised while recording. It’s less pressure I think. With the big studios, stuff ends up sounding too perfect. We like it to sound a little weird and off-kilter.’

The LA trio have just been confirmed as playing next year’s Øya Festival, alongside Blur and Angel Haze. Watch the video for the band’s new single ‘Don’t Save Me’ here.
