Have Years & Years accidentally revealed who’ll be singing the new Bond theme tune?
Huge, if true.
Years & Years’ Mikey Goldsworthy might have accidentally let slip who could be singing the next Bond theme tune on an interview with BBC Radio 5.
Whilst being interviewed alongside bandmates Olly Alexander and Emre Turkman, Mikey began to respond to a question about who who was most likely to get the role, when he said: “Because we had Judy Dench who was M, and Ben Whishaw who was Q, we thought it would be us. I thought they’d ask us to do the theme tune but I think Dua Lipa is doing it.”
“Am I not supposed to say that?” Mikey continued, to which Olly joked: “Do you have intel we don’t?”
“I dunno. I feel bad now. I’ve ruined everything. Well, hopefully, and then we’ll do it,” he joked.
Dua Lipa has previously responded to rumours she’ll do the next Bond theme tune, which has previously been sung by Adele, Madonna, Sam Smith, Shirely Bassey and others. She told Billboard in May: “I would love to do it, but I’m not recording it…so far…I don’t want to jinx it. I would love to do it.”
Huge news if true.
