Life's a vice
Hear Jonny Greenwood’s Inherent Vice version of Radiohead’s ‘Spooks’
Track dates back to 2006’s ‘In Rainbows’ sessions.
Radiohead’s ‘Spooks’ was a briefly-showcased, blink-and-you-missed-it track from the band’s 2006 ‘In Rainbows’ sessions. Played live no more than a handful of times, it’s since re-emerged as the most high-profile track on guitarist Jonny Greenwood’s new soundtrack for Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘Inherent Vice’.
On the new version, streaming below, the original piece - written by all of Radiohead - has been fledged out into a duskier edit. Best of all, it features spoken word parts by Joanna Newsom, who makes a big contribution to the soundtrack. The track also features Gaz Coombes and Dany Goffey.
‘Inherent Vice’’s soundtrack is out 15th December via Nonesuch, with the film out the same month.
