Ibeyi play set on Seattle’s KEXP-FM
The twin duo played a captivating four-song set, including renditions of ‘Ghost’ and ‘Mamma Says’.
Having just finished up their zig-zagging tour of North America, Ibeyi swung by Seattle’s KEXP-FM station to perform a flawless four-song set. Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Diaz played three tracks from their self-titled debut; ‘Ghost’, ‘Mamma Says’, and ‘River’. They also played a cover of Jay Electronica’s ‘Better In Tune With The Infinite’.
Ibeyi also chatted to host Stevie Zoom inbetween songs, speaking about their French-Cuban heritage, multilingual lyrics, and touring the U.S. They were especially enthusiastic when he called the video for ‘River’ “haunting,” and revealed that it was filmed in one take.
