Watch Ibeyi share a new video for ‘Me Voy’
The new track features Spanish hip hop singer Mala Rodriguez.
A couple of weeks back, twins Naomi and Lisa-Kaindé Díaz, better known as Ibeyi, announced that they’d be returning with their new album ‘Ash’ on 29th September through XL – that’s only two weeks from today!
So far they’ve shared two tracks from the record, ‘Away Away’ and ‘Deathless’, featuring jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington. They’ve now unveiled another new cut from the LP, the snapping, R&B-tinged ‘Me Voy’, which contains some tropical tones and features Spanish hip hop singer Mala Rodriguez.
The accompanying video is just as colourful as the track itself. In it, the sisters and Mala perform in both tranquil, garden-like settings made up in a studio and in front of dazzling strobe lights. It’s altogether vibrant, and fits the themes of love and lust that the song itself represents pretty much perfectly.
