Irish producer REID previews new EP with ‘Fractures’
Glistening first track previews the Dubliner’s new EP, out this August.
Irish producer REID is building on promising 2013 material (listen to last year’s ‘Wake’ for an example) with the announcement of a new EP. ‘Fractures’ follows on from last year’s ‘Genesis’, with the second release led by a new title-track features Slow Skies on vocals.
The EP is said to be a product of the Dubliner’s travels to South East Asia, where he took previously recorded demos and listened to barely anything else while 1000s of miles from home.
‘Fractures’ is led with a title-track that doesn’t show the scars of its travels - instead, it’s a gently lifting number, defined by vocals that could crack and crumble at any point. Previous comparisons to SOHN aren’t quite so appropriate here - REID’s creating a space of his own this time round.
‘Fractures’ is out 11th August via M: UK.
