Update
It looks like HAIM are back in the studio
(Sort of) cryptic tweet suggests the follow-up to ‘Days Are Gone’ is imminent.
It’s almost two years since HAIM put out their breakthrough debut ‘Days Are Gone’, and now they’ve given the biggest hint yet that a follow-up is imminent.
An in-the-studio photo posted on the band’s official Twitter comes with the caption “Uh ohz”. It shows go-to producer Ariel Rechtshaid sitting at a desk in front of a Bowie poster. Clues don’t go any further than that, but surely this mean’s album #2 is in progress.
Back in June of last year, guitarist Alana Haim told BBC 6 Music that the band were due in the studio that summer. She confirmed they’d been writing on the road and that a new record would “come very soon.”
Previously, when speaking to Rolling Stone, Alana said the band were looking to Kanye West for inspiration. “We’re always writing and figuring out new vibes and trying to get our inner Kanyes out.”

HAIM: Calling It Quits
Now over a decade into their career, HAIM have long since hit their stride — and, having already spent years navigating the industry’s infamous fickleness, on fourth record ‘I quit’ they literally “don’t give a fuck”. With a period of break-ups, overthinking, and crippling self-doubt now behind them, the LA sisters are letting their hair down, ready to abandon fear and embrace a summer of vulnerability, freedom, and fun.
