Jonny Greenwood has been nominated for a Golden Globe

He’s up for best score for ‘Phantom Thread’.

Jonny Greenwood’s been nominated for his first Golden Globe Award (yes really, his first).

He’s been nominated for the Best Original Score gong for his work on Paul Thomas Anderson’s new movie ‘Phantom Thread’. The film stars Daniel Day-Lewis and is set in 1950’s London, where Day-Lewis and his sister are at the heart of British fashion, coming across a young woman who soon becomes a fixture in his life.

He faces competition from Hans Zimmer (‘Dunkirk’), John Williams (‘The Post’), Alexandre Desplat (‘The Shape of Water’) and Carter Burwell (‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’). He’ll know if he’s beaten off the rest of the crowd when the awards take place in January.

Meanwhile, Radiohead recently announced a bunch of new tour dates for 2018. They’re set to tour around South America in April, kicking off the run in Santiago.
