Jorja Smith drops storming bassline banger ‘The Way I Love You’
Her new single has arrived accompanied by a striking video that pays tribute to Sheffield’s Niche Night Club.

Jorja Smith has kick-started the May bank holiday with her ferocious new effort ‘The Way I Love You’ - a bass-heavy garage floor-filler that acts as a follow up to last year’s standalone singles ‘Loving You’ and ‘Don’t Let Me Go’.
A move away from what we termed the “thoughtful, nuanced R&B” of her 2023 second album ‘Falling or flying’, this latest track sees Jorja lean further into new sonic territory and dial up the energy. “’The Way I Love You’ is just so much fun,” she says, speaking on her new cut. “It takes me back in time - there’s something nostalgic about it but now at the same time.”
She continues: “I had the pleasure of working with Maverick Sabre, Ed Thomas and Shayk on this one. Every time I play it with my girls, I get so hyped - it’s a proper head-skanker.”
Check out the vibrant KC Locke-directed video for ‘The Way I Love You’ - which nods to a UK bassline scene staple, Sheffield’s Niche Night Club - below.
