Julie Byrne is feeling reflective on ‘I Live Now As A Singer’
The track is taken from her new album ‘Not Even Happiness’.
US singer-songwriter is due to release her second album ‘Not Even Happiness’ on 13th January through UK label Basin Rock, and has shared another taste of the record.
‘I Live Now As A Singer’ is set to be the final track on the LP, and on it Julie trades her usual folk guitars for sweeping, deeply atmospheric synths that glide underneath her melancholy vocals.
According to a note she wrote to The FADER, the track was written between Brooklyn, Berlin and rural Southtowns near Bufflo, New York. The song reflects on that nomadic lifestyle, and how she has “dragged my life across the country”, and is beautifully meditative.
