Kali Uchis shares new track ‘Nuestro Planeta’

After collaborating with Class Of 2017 alumni Jorja Smith on ‘Tyrant’ a little while back, singer, songwriter and producer Kali Uchis has returned with her new single.

‘Nuestro Planeta’ sees her teaming up with Reykon, and it’s been produced by The Rude Boyz (who have worked with the likes of Shakira). The track was also recorded in Medellin, Columbia and is her first to be totally recorded in Spanish, seeing her connect with her own Colombian roots. Set against stuttering, sometimes glassy beats, the spaciousness of the track allows Kali’s words and vocals to float across the top.

Talking about the new track, Kali says that it’s about “Fantasizing about being with the person you thought someone was rather than the person they are now, without all the other factors and drama that got in the way of that fantasy”.

Kali’s debut album is set to be released later this year.
