For a special one-off performance at Kennedy Centre in Washington D.C, Kendrick Lamar was joined by the National Symphony Orchestra to play songs from his latest album ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’.
It’s no grand leap for a record that revolves largely around dizzyingly intricate free-jazz arrangements, but this is the first time the rapper has teamed up with an orchestra for a live performance like this. Together, he and the National Symphony Orchestra played tracks from ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ including ‘King Kunta,’ ‘Alright,’ and ‘i’.
Kendrick Lamar recently announced that he’s off ona new tour called ‘Kunta’s Groove Sessions’. He’s set to be backed by a new live band he’s assembled called The Wesley Theory.
