Kendrick Lamar shares new video for ‘For Free? (Interlude)’
Lamar pulls the Uncle Sam thread of his jazz interlude out into full-blown video satire.

Kendrick Lamar has shared a new video for ‘For Free? (Interlude)’ taken from his recent album ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’.
In the album’s jazz interlude - the other one being flip-side ‘For Sale? (Interlude)’ - Kendrick Lamar takes swipes at the idea of the American Dream, and Uncle Sam, repeatedly adding “this dick ain’t free”.
In the new video, Kendrick Lamar pulls out these lyrical ideas into full-blown farcical satire. He eventually ends up dressed up as Uncle Sam, after chasing a woman around a stately home and scaring her with the help of a band. Besides being a very funny piece of video, typically of Lamar, there’s also a tonne of meaning left to unpack.
