Following last year’s single ‘Run’, KWAYE is back with his newest track ‘Runaway’.

A dazzling and intimate new single, KWAYE says, “‘Runaway’ is about the struggle with masculinity - what we feel as individuals vs what we are taught to believe. Tropes like ‘boys don’t cry’ and ‘man up’ still exist and further the idea that emotions are a sign of weakness. We are human first, with a biology and chemistry that is unique to ourselves. I’ve seen and experienced what the pressures of living up to a singular idea of gender can do to a person’s life, and that it is far more crippling.”

“Releasing the song has been 5 years in the making,” he continues. “I wrote ‘Runaway’ in 2016, reflecting on the personal events of 2014 - the summer before I first flew to LA. I’ve since grown into the person ready to perform this, and wanted the video to be just that: A story of a boy with a fear, told by the man coming through it.”
