Lao Ra shares new video for ‘Patrona’
It’s her first new music since ‘No Pressure’ earlier this year.

After releasing her first new music of 2018 - the brilliant, catchy bop of ‘No Pressure’- back in June, Lao Ra is back with another one. New track ‘Patrona’, which comes complete with a new video released today, roughly translates as ‘female boss’ in Spanish and is a statement of female empowerment from the Colombian singer.
“Patrona is the ultimate female boss,” says Lao Ra about the track. “It’s a song about being Latin, female and powerful. It’s about owning the past and turning it into something that makes you feel proud. It’s changing people’s minds so when they talk about Colombia they’re not gonna talk about Pablo Escobar, drug wars and Narcos anymore, they’re gonna be talking about me, La Patrona.”
Last we heard of Lao Ra before the release of previous single ‘No Pressure’, was with the release of her chart-ready collaboration with Afro B, ‘Me Gusta’.
Lao Ra is also due to play some UK and European dates this month. See them below.
