Leeches preview new EP with the fierce ‘Stranger’
The new collection comes out on Friday (12th January) via Bristol’s Leisure Records.
Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from Leeches.
Dorset thrashers Leeches are releasing their new EP this Friday, and have shared new single ‘Stranger’ in advance of the release. It’s our Neu Pick for today.
The ‘Watusi’ EP comes out via new Bristol label Leisure Records, and its latest preview is a ’90s-indebted avalanche through feedback-drenched grunge pop.
As weird as the track can get - heavily distorted guitars create somewhat of a psych whirlwind - there’s pop hooks by the dozen to drag you back in. Leeches are a multi-faceted bunch, this isn’t just noise.
The band are set to take the new EP on tour, starting in London next week at the Shacklewell Arms and running into February.
