Lemuria Announce New Album ‘The Distance Is So Big’

Last summer, Lemuria visited our shores and we discovered that they were beginning to prepare themselves for making their third studio album. Now, eight months on, the Buffalo, NY three-piece have announced that they’re ready to share their new full-length with the world very shortly.

For their new album, the trio returned to work with J. Robbins - the man behind records form the likes of Against Me! and Jawbreaker - after previously working on their 2011 effort ‘Pebble’ with him.

Recording from late November to early December, and then again in January and February, the band have since created the thirteen-track offering, ‘The Distance Is So Big’, which is set for release on 17th June, through Bridge9 Records.

The tracklisting is as follows.

1. Michael and Stephen Moon
2. Brilliant Dancer
3. Clay Baby
4. Scienceless
5. Paint The Youth
6. Dream Eater
7. Oahu, Hawaii
8. Chihuly
9. Bluffing Statistics
10. Public Opinion Bath
11. Congratulations Sex
12. Survivors’ G
13. Ruby

Speaking to DIY, bassist Max Gregor revealed that this record is set to explore some different territory to their previous release: ‘I think if you look at ‘The Distance is So Big’ and ‘Pebble’ side by side, you’ll see the connection, sure, but they’re very different records.’
